Liver Treats
Liver Treats
Okay, I’ll be the first to admit…these don’t smell great cooking. But if you want to get your spoiled dog to do just about anything, make a batch of these.
Ingredients:
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. wheat germ
1 tsp garlic powder
1 lb. beef liverDirections:
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a cookie sheet.
In a blender, liquify the beef liver.
In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients and the contents of the blender. Mix well.
Using a teaspoon, drop the dough onto the lightly greased cookie sheet. Make the spoonfuls as small or as large as you’d like. This will determine the size of the treat.
Use a glass or cup to flatten out the spoonfuls of dough. Hint: Dip the glass in a little water and cornmeal to keep it from sticking

Do correct me if I’m wrong. But dogs aren’t allowed to consume garlic or onion for that matter.
Ariel, you’re right. Sort of.
However, it’s RAW garlic and onions that have been linked to hemolytic anemia in dogs. Both garlic powder and onion powder have not been shown to be toxic, especially in “seasoning amounts”. I feed these to my dog, Sam and TRUST ME when I say that I wouldn’t give him anything that would hurt him!
Should these be refrigerated?
