Chicken Flavored Birthday Cake
Is your dog’s birthday coming up? Here’s a yummy recipe for dog birthday cake that will make your pup’s day. And the garlic fights fleas, too! That’s twice the reason to celebrate!
Ingredients:
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 c. Whole-wheat flour
2 c. Wheat germ
1/2 c. cornmeal
2 eggs
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 TBSP minced garlic
2 c. warm water
Vegetable oil cooking spray — Garlic FlavorDirections:
Preheat your oven to 375. Lightly spray 2 cake pans with cooking spray. Dust both pans with flour.
In a mixing bowl, dissolve the bouillon cube in the warm water. When it’s dissolved, add the other ingredients and mix well.
Bake for about 50 min. Let the cakes cool completely before serving.
Please note that it’s RAW garlic and onions that have been linked to hemolytic anemia in dogs. Both garlic powder and cooked garlic have not been shown to be toxic. I feed these to Sam and TRUST ME when I say that I wouldn’t give him anything that would hurt him!

Rod, here in Louisiana, we have a garlic-flavored spray that Pam puts out.
If you can’t find it, then go ahead and use whatever cooking spray that you have on hand. Your dog will probably never even notice!
Garlic and onions are more toxic to dogs than chocolate. Do you really put garlic in this recipe??

Yes, I do use garlic in a good number of the recipes that I make for my dog Sam.
Garlic isn’t nearly as toxic as people are led to believe. Of course, I don’t advocate using tons of garlic. Seasoning amounts aren’t going to hurt your dog and actually have some benefits.
