If your dog is anything like mine, he loves cheese! This is an easy recipe for dog treats that is sure to please all of your pups.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/4 c. grated cheddar
1 stick softened butter or margarine
1 clove of garlic crushed
1/4 milk (or as needed)
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375.
Mix all of the ingredients, except for the milk, in a mixing bowl. To the mixture, add just enough of the milk to form a ball.
Put the “cheese ball” into the fridge to chill for about a half an hour.
Roll it out onto a lightly floured surface. Cut it into cute dog bone or hydrant shapes. Bake them for about 15 minutes or until firm.
Makes 24-36 biscuits (depending on your cookie cutter size)
That was easy, wasn’t it?!

I thought garlic was toxic to dogs?
Some dogs love the taste of garlic and if you use it like I do when you make their dog food or dog treats especially when they are puppies they will not eat their poo.
Hey Melissa… garlic CAN be toxic to dogs if you use to much so you have to watch how much your dog takes in. It can also be GOOD for your dog… given in small amounts… actually a lot of dog food has garlic in it!
Not so much…Here’s an article that I just posted in an attempt to clear things up: http://www.dogtreatrecipes.org/garlic-and-your-dog.html
Ha, nevermind if your dog likes them. YOU will like them. I couldn’t eat dinner because I was too full of cheesy dog treats. I think I’ll serve them at my next board meeting. Oh – I added bacon bits, too. Yummy. And yes, my dogs would chew the table legs off to get at them.
my puppies LOVE these!:) we love your website(especially my dogs) thanks(:
